Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will deliver full life-cycle recruiting for the organization. This is an exempt position requiring discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Demonstrates actions consistent with company culture in all interactions; acts as culture ambassador. Acts as “servant leader” for all team members.
  2. Uses abilities to strategically source, screen and prepare candidates for interviews with hiring managers. Ensures a positive candidate experience from the initial application to the final onboarding process.
  3. Administers various talent acquisition plans and procedures for all organization team members; assists in the development and implementation of recruiting policies and procedures; reviews, makes recommendations for changes as needed.
  4. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. Assists Director of People with varying strategic organizational project management/implementation. Evaluates and recommends ATS system/upgrades; leads implementation project as required.
  5. Evaluates effectiveness of advertising contracts and makes recommendations for change if needed. Manages bid process and coordinates demonstrations; recommends preferred vendors and implements change if needed.
  6. Works diligently to identify sources in all markets for candidates. Develops relationships with educational institutions and career centers so as to establish OP as a partner in connecting people with careers in the multi-family industry. Proactively creates applicant pool and talent pipelines by posting job ads through job boards, social media, state employment agencies, professional associations and employee referral programs.
  7. Collaborates with hiring managers to recommend strategies for identifying and recruiting potential candidates. Helps to identify key performance factors, develop sourcing pools and establish interviewing criteria. The primary goal is to provide support and assistance to hiring managers by giving them the tools they need to select the best candidate for a position – not to do all the recruiting for them.
  8. Evaluates applications, reviews resumes, conducts reference checks and completes initial phone interviews to narrow candidate pool. Makes recommendations to hiring managers on the top candidates for in-person interviews.
  9. Organizes, hosts, and participates in job fairs in varying markets as needed to build a pipeline of potential candidates for high-turnover positions.
  10. Engages in the TAAEF’s Room to Grow campaign and furthers efforts to attract new people to the multi-family industry. This may include working to partner with local high schools, trade schools and community colleges to help create awareness of the career opportunities in the industry.
  11. Manages employee referral program.
  12. Makes recommendations for streamlining/coordinating temp employee programs/relationships.
  13. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  14. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  15. Creates reports relating to talent acquisition efforts and communicates status of open positions and progress to Director of People and Senior leaders.
  16. Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.

 

 

Skills/Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in HRM, Organizational Development, Business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years progressive Talent Acquisition experience.
  • Strategic mindset.
  • Strong data gathering and troubleshooting skills required
  • Experience with UltiPro preferred
  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening skills
  • Ability to adapt/respond to different types of situations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively. Highly organized.
  • Able to meet changing priorities and deadlines
  • Able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously, including project administration, monitoring, and execution; possess good organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside business hours, weekends and non-traditional holidays.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency required.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
  • Talking and expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Visual requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision.
  • Ability to compare, copy, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, communicate, and instruct.
  • Ability to tolerate stressful situations.
  • Ability to work under minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Ability to travel by car, bus, train, or air up to 50% of the time.
