VP Development/Development Manager

The Vice President Development/Development Manager (title to be commensurate with experience and qualifications) will report to the Senior Vice President of Development at Novare Group, as a key member of the development team.  The candidate will be responsible for working with the SVP Development and the development team to source and originate new multifamily projects, managing the pre-development process for projects in the development pipeline, providing the day-to-day project management oversight for projects under construction, and handling asset management responsibilities such as pre-leasing and working with the property management team on opening a property.  This position will collaborate frequently with internal team members and will involve coordinating all aspects of the development process.  Specific responsibilities will include the following:

• Support the development and finance teams in the creation of a business plan and financial pro forma for each development project including competitive analysis, demographic research, construction cost assumptions, and project underwriting.
• Assist the SVP Development and consultants in coordinating architectural design, obtaining entitlements, and working with the general contractor on cost discovery.
• Assist the development, finance and legal teams with respect to rezonings, entitlements, land acquisitions, project debt and equity financings, and dispositions.
• During construction, attend owner, architect and contractor (OAC) meetings, facilitate and coordinate the pay application and draw process, and coordinate with third-party construction consultants.
• Prepare monthly development reports for the company’s lenders and partners.
• Manage the marketing and leasing process during and after construction, with the input and oversight of Novare Group asset management resources.

Annual Salary and Bonus:  Base salary and bonus will be commensurate with prior experience and qualifications.  This position will participate in the equity compensation for the projects assigned to this development team.  Benefits are offered. Opportunity for advancement exists.
