Senior Associate Commercial Real Estate Appraiser

Job Description:
The Boston based office of Joseph J. Blake & Associates, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time senior associate commercial real estate appraiser position. The Appraiser will have the opportunity to develop their career through mentoring, formal learning, and experience valuing a broad spectrum of commercial property types. The Appraiser will have exposure to all levels of the Firm on a daily basis, providing experience for future growth within the company. The Appraiser’s responsibilities are varied, though include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and complete multiple appraisal assignments in a timely manner while still ensuring the highest level of quality
- Assignments include a variety of property types including multi-family, retail, office, industrial, and special-use properties
- Utilizing Argus and Excel to create financial models and other analysis in valuing various property types
- Gather regional commercial real estate data (lease, sale, investment criteria, etc.) and research market trends and operational or other property issues
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients (principally consisting of lending institutions, fund managers and insurance companies), commercial brokers, asset managers, and other real estate professionals
Qualifications/Experience:
- Certified General Real Estate Appraisal License (or classroom hours towards obtaining one) or at a minimum, an Appraisal Trainee License.
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
- High proficiency in Argus and MS Office (Excel and Word)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong math and research skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments
- Ability to establish priorities, take initiative, work under time pressures, and exercise independent and sound judgement
