MidCity is looking to hire a dynamic development superstar who is eager to bring his or her financial acumen and passion for real estate to a growing company with a pipeline of exciting large-scale urban infill projects.
Position Summary and Responsibilities:
- Candidate will use in-house financial models to lead all development underwriting efforts and maintain project proformas;
- Candidate will prepare detailed development budgets, revenue projections, return calculations and waterfall models;
- Candidate will participate in all aspects of the development process, including entitlement, design, financing, and construction oversight;
- Candidate will interface with property management and in-house asset management teams;
- Candidate will create operating plans/budgets for development projects;
- Candidate will assist with quarterly investor reports and investor communications;
- Candidate will provide monthly budget and cost reporting updates that may include monitoring and coordinating invoice processing, setting up job costing/coding, cost tracking, and importing actuals into development proforma
- Candidate must be able to reliably commute to Bethesda MD office
- Bachelor’s degree (open to candidates with advanced degree with concentration in real estate)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience as a development/financial analyst conducting financial modeling for real estate development projects, acquisitions, and other real estate-oriented activities
- Highly proficient understanding of real estate finance and advanced knowledge of writing formulas in Excel
- Strong communications skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Advanced problem-solving skills, resilience, positive attitude, and intellectual curiosity
