BGO Built to Lead Internship Program: 

BentallGreenOak is recruiting for an Investment Management Intern as part of the BGO Built to Lead Internship Program. As a BGO Built to Lead Intern, you will work alongside our industry leaders to help solve real-world challenges in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.  This is a paid 12-month developmental opportunity, and throughout the course of the placement, participants will have access to mentorship from senior leaders and to a formal training curriculum geared towards soft skills, business skills and leadership development.

 

The Opportunity:

The Intern, Property Management and Sustainability will work alongside our Real Estate Services team in Ottawa. The successful candidate will provide value-added support for pilot ideas, programs, technologies and projects related to sustainable investing. 

BentallGreenOak’s buildings are evolving today to fulfill the equally urgent purpose of protecting the social well-being of our occupants, and the health of the environment.  This is an invaluable opportunity for an individual empowered by a sustainability mindset, and with an interest commercial real estate as a career. The Intern will gain broad exposure to real estate services and sustainable investing, including operational and utility management, green building certification programs, greenhouse gas report and reduction, leasing, wellness initiatives, project management, and administration and accounting.

 

What You Will Do:

  •  Evaluate, plan and execute sustainable investing programs;
  •  Provide administrative and coordination support for capital projects throughout lifecycle (planning, design, tendering, construction and closeout);
  •  Provide technical support to property management team on technology and application related
  •  projects;
  •  Provide support to the Director of Leasing, and establish relationships with various brokerage firm research groups with the goal of researching market activity and availability, and helping develop the leasing strategy for various assets;

 

Who You Are:

  •  Demonstrated interest in developing a career within the commercial real estate industry;
  •  Relationship Skills – Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; team player;
  •  Organizational Skills – Ability to allocate one’s time effectively and work under pressure; ability to prioritize workload; ability to work at a detailed level; willingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and change;
  •  Computer Skills – Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs, and a natural curiosity and intuitiveness for learning new applications.
