THK Associates, Inc. is currently looking for an Associate Planner with 3 to 6 years of experience to assist with the continued success and growth the Landscape Architecture/Planning department. THK is a highly collaborative group of passionate and environmentally focused Landscape Architects and Designers who work on a wide variety of projects including private development, parks, trails, open space design and management, greenways, urban design, river restoration, transportation, regional and community planning, national and international mountain resorts and master planned communities. THK strives to keep our staff engaged by offering project experience in areas that interest each staff member and by promoting personal and professional growth.
Day to day responsibilities include due diligence research, code research for multiple municipalities, entitlement documentation and submittals in multiple municipalities, GIS Mapping and data organization, master planning, planning and/or facilitating community meetings, presentation before elected and appointed boards and commissions, conceptual design, hand, computer and/or 3D graphics preparation.
An Associate Planner will receive exposure to and participate in all projects undertaken by the firm including both private development and public community driven projects. Associate Planner may also be asked to assist with Landscape Architectural tasks.
Candidates should have knowledge of urban and residential planning and land development processes. Additional skills that will help the selected candidate succeed will include good verbal, graphic and written communication skills; ability to organize; ability to complete tasks on set deadlines; ability to work in a team environment; and initiative to take on additional responsibilities.
Software: Applicants should have proficiency in:
- ArcGIS - required
- Adobe Creative Products - Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Illustrator - required
- AutoCAD - preferred
Education, Experience and Additional Requirements: Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture or related design field and experience working in a professional planning or design consulting firm.
