Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Human Resources Professional to join our growing team and provide HR leadership in a high-performance work environment. The Director, Human Resources will be responsible for leading and developing TDC’s HR department as well as managing the services, policies and programs approved by the Leadership Team.

Duties include developing recruitment strategies, implementing systems for managing staff benefits and behavior and onboarding new employees.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Developing, managing, and communicating HR programs and initiatives.
  • Identifying, monitoring, and helping drive the Company culture so that it supports goal accomplishment and promotes employee satisfaction.
  • Developing and monitoring the annual HR budget that includes – HR staff and services, employee recognition…
  • Managing the Company’s use of group medical insurance brokers, insurance carriers, retirement plan administrators, and other outside support.
  • Conducting a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep management informed of new developments.
  • Preparing periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested to track strategic goal accomplishment.
  • Managing the development and maintenance of the Human Resources presence on the Internet and online recruiting.
  • Reviewing and recommending HR software or systems.
  • Assisting managers with the selection and implementation of external training programs.
  • Managing the updating and documentation of policy and benefits in the Employee handbook.

 

Employee Relations  

  • Partnering with Executive Management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and legal requirements.
  • Researching and recommending employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Reviewing and guiding Management on employment terminations.
  • Leading the implementation of Company safety and health programs.

 

 Employment Recruiting & hiring practices

  • Establishing and leading the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire dynamic team members.
  • Interviewing candidates; serving as an interviewer for position finalists.
  • Establishing policy and procedure for onboarding and orientation for new employees.
  • Overseeing and managing a performance appraisal system that drives high performance

 

Compensation & Benefits                                                                                                                   

  • Leading participation in compensation surveys.
  • With the assistance of the Leadership Team, obtaining cost effective, employee benefits, and monitoring national benefits environment for options and cost savings.
  • Leading the development and implementation of benefits orientation and other benefits training.
  • Recommending changes in benefits program offered by the Company.

 

Human Resource Law

  • Serving as the primary contact with the company employment law attorney and outside government agencies.
  • Leading Company compliance with governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc.
  • Managing the preparation of information as requested or required for compliance with laws.
  • Protecting the interests of employees and the Company in accordance with Company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Broad knowledge and experience in administration of HR, recruiting and hiring, benefits, HR systems, employee relations, HR law, as well as other Human Resource programs.
  • A Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with company Executive Leadership.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Minimum of a Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in Human Resources or Business
  • 5+ years’ experience in HR Management
  • Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations.
  • Compliance Management: 5 years (Strongly Preferred)
