About the Job: The position will primarily be responsible for transactional sourcing, investment underwriting, and executing diverse investment opportunities including debt, equity and development positions. An ideal candidate is expected to have intellectual aptitude, strong analytical skillsets, enjoys solving unstructured problems, be detail oriented, effective in communication and negotiation, and able to effectively prioritize workflow and assignments under a high-pressure environment. We are looking for an individual who has an existing network in the real estate industry, solid understanding of capital and real estate market fundamentals, along with a strong track record in private equity real estate investment underwriting and transactional execution. A successful candidate is someone who is eager to further their knowledge, skills, and abilities to take on new challenges to progress their professional growth. 

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Source and screen transactions effectively and independently 
  • Assess investment opportunities including market analysis, financial projections, counter party underwriting, risk & return analysis, transaction structuring, resulting in clear, concise recommendations and transaction structure that identify key risks and mitigates as well as provides the best risk adjusted returns
  • Lead development and documentation of transaction rationale and investment strategy, including preparation and presentation of all teaser, investment memoranda and investor presentation materials
  • Lead development and negotiation of transactional and capital structures and all related documentation including but not limited to letter of intent, quote sheet, purchase and sales agreement, joint venture agreements, loan agreements, co-lender agreements, asset management agreements and development agreements
  • Lead coordinate and project manage transaction execution effectively and efficiently including but not limited to,  transactional project management, all third-party and counter-party management, transaction negotiation and documentation, legal, physical and environment due diligence, appraisal coordination, budgets and schedules analysis, business plan formation, credit analysis, budgeting, financial analysis/projections and investment analysis, coach and development of junior investment professionals
  • Assist in development and management of selected initiatives for the investment management group

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Economics, Finance, or related focus of study preferred or a minimum of 8 years.
  • A graduate from a top-tier college institution, a plus, but not required
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience working in real estate principal investments (debt and/or equity)
  • Experience analyzing and underwriting real estate investments of different asset classes and life cycle; prior experience in joint ventures, large scale ground-up developments and value-add repositions, industrial / logistics, residential and office sectors a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, communication and business writing skills
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting; strong analytical/modeling skills
  • Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and experience working with Argus
  • Ability to travel as needed for diligence of investment opportunities and asset management of existing investments
  • Ability to interpret and navigate through complex legal documents and negotiate them towards defined business goals
