ANALYST - REAL ESTATE (Real Estate Finance)

Time Equities, Inc. (“TEI”), a full-service real estate company, is seeking a confident, highly organized, number and people-oriented, independent, inquisitive, and experienced analyst. The right candidate will be well-rounded. Not only will they have to be great with numbers but also an excellent writer and adept at speaking with lenders and clients. This position will work from our conveniently located NYC office for the Real Estate Finance Department.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create financial models and analyses for mortgages, construction loans, lines of credit, etc. using Argus and Excel
  • Respond to lender requests for information and manage a diverse pipeline of finance projects
  • Coordinate due diligence and loan closings
  • Interface with asset/property managers and third-party providers to ensure timely delivery of information
  • Review and analyze commercial leases and loan documents
  • Draft mortgage deal memoranda and loan proposal summaries
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for lenders
  • Assist in the preparation and approval of financing requests
  • Review and understand accounting statements (balance sheet, GL, income statement, etc.)
  • Ability to generate mortgage brokerage fees via outside clients
  • Ad hoc real estate finance projects & reports and other office work

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s or pursuing Master’s degree preferred (major in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial analyst role in the commercial real estate sector
  • Candidate must have experience creating financial models using Argus and Excel
  • Comfortable with Real Estate Finance concepts and typical lending terms, such as debt yield, debt service coverage ratio, net operating income, LTV, time-value of money, etc.
  • Prior real estate finance/mortgage/banking work experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of the commercial mortgage transactional lifecycle is preferred
  • Ability to read and understand accounting statements and accounting terminology
  • Ability to engage outside borrowers as a mortgage broker
  • Able to work independently, present recommendations, and interact with senior management and in the decision-making process
  • Critical thinker with exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Well organized with a strong work ethic
  • Knowledge of Argus and Excel is strongly desired
