Job Title: General Manager, Construction

Reports To: President Sureste Property Services
SUMMARY
The ideal candidate for the General Manager, Construction is an experienced Multi-Family Operations and Facilities leader. You will be responsible for delivering key maintenance and repair services to properties in our portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who is equally comfortable overseeing projects and work schedules or reacting autonomously during an emergency or time-sensitive issues. To be successful the candidate must be highly organized with a proactive approach to problem solving and a relentlessly positive attitude. The role will provide leadership, direction, supervision to the onsite crews that are responsible for providing plumbing, pressure washing, roofing, painting, small repairs, clean out and demo services. As GM of the division, you will be responsible for overseeing the P&L of the division and will work closely with accounting to provide weekly budget reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Provide leadership, direction and supervision to service crews ensuring that we deliver excellent craftmanship and value for services rendered.
- Ensure the efficient scheduling of service crews to maximize revenue while delivering outstanding service to properties.
- Oversee team of contractors and employees to deliver services reliably and cost effectively
- Interacts regularly with property management and Sureste executives to ensure that objectives are being met.
- Leads team to achieve budget goals consistency and performance metrics as defined by management.
- Responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial and operational reports.
- Responsible for maximizing division revenue and provide strategic planning to expand depth and breadth of services offered and an appropriate management structure to ensure budget and quality control.
- Oversees team compliance with safety procedures and other company policies
- Highly proficient in scheduling, billing, materials & equipment purchasing
- Responsible for overseeing delivering some emergency and after-hours services
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university is major plus
- A minimum of eight to 8 – 10 years in construction, multi-family operations and facilities management
- HVAC certified a plus but not required.
- Strong experience leading a large Operations and Facilities organization a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Experience with property management or other enterprise software a major plus.
- A minimum of four years’ experience at managing people/direct reports, specifically a staff of three or more
- Ability to speak Spanish preferred
