Associate Director for Capital Projects
University at Buffalo’s Campus Living Department seeks an Associate Director for Capital Projects. In this role, you will oversee large scale work that needs to be done on an ongoing basis for all Campus Living properties. You will be responsible for facilitating the definition of programmatic initiatives to be carried out in conjunction with deferred maintenance for a maximum efficient of funds. Your responsibilities include oversee a variety of in-house rehabilitation, repair and major maintenance projects; hiring, role assignment and development of Project Managers; provide leadership and direction based on industry standards to meet goals and objectives of Campus Living; analyze facility condition assessment data and formulate recommendations for ongoing development of long range capital planning; serve as project manager for large scale construction projects; serve as contact for stakeholder requests to define project requirements, cost estimates; serve as expert regarding interior design, interpretation of building codes and accessibility requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or closely related field is required. A minimum of three years of experience in Construction Management or Construction/Architecture/MEP Project Administration and progressive experience in providing written reviews of technical specifications and construction drawings in preparation for bidding a construction project.
