Description


As a key member of the finance/accounting team, you will be responsible for providing financial accounting and administrative services including but not limited to financial reporting, coordinating tax preparation with third party service provider, managing external fund administrator, treasury functions and other Firm growth initiatives.  In this role, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Supporting the Head Fund Controller with the quarter-end and year-end fund closing processes
  • Coordinate and review work performed by third party fund administrator (financial reporting, client statements, capital notices, etc.)
  • Reviewing and analyzing property level financial information and working with joint venture partners to ensure that all investments are accounted for in accordance with JRE policies and procedures and U.S. GAAP
  • Reviewing and coordinating timely funding of property level construction draw requisitions
  • Assisting with the production and maintenance of cash flow projections used for fund level decision making, coordinating the capital event process with support of JRE Investor Relations and third party fund administrator
  • Working closely with the Firm’s tax preparers and external auditors in support of the tax return preparation and annual audits
  • Assisting with management of treasury operations to ensure proper documentation and approvals
  • Ensuring timely compliance of with federal, state, local and corporate policies, laws, regulations and filing requirements
  • Performing financial due diligence for new JRE acquisitions, working closely with various departments across the JRE organization, third party service providers, JV partners and external legal counsel
  • Coordinating with the JRE Investor Relations team regarding responses to client inquiries

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting required
  • 3+ years of financial accounting experience required preferably in real estate or private equity
  • CPA and Big Four public accounting experience a plus
  • Strong accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • General understanding of investment structures, mortgage documents, development agreements, partnership agreements, and purchase and sale agreements
  • Detail oriented, organized self-starter with ability to multi-task
  • Professional demeanor with excellent communication/interpersonal, presentation and writing skills
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information high touch client base
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
