Commercial Office Investment Analyst

The Role.  You will be part of our SRGNC team supporting our corporate client’s real estate group. Our SRGNC team provides analysis and support for a variety of global corporate real estate asset management functions, including developing real estate strategies, managing lease and purchase transactions, as well as oversight on capital improvement projects.  In this role, you will be in charge of analytical work required to support a team of subject-matter experts from our client’s real estate group. You will support our client to ensure that transactions are performed according to the agreed real estate financial metrics, related agreements, and meet the sustainable needs of the business.

Responsibilities

This is an in-person opportunity (rather than a remote worker position) working from SRGNC’s San Mateo office as well as from our client’s office on the peninsula.

  • Develop real estate analytics strategy, addressing returns, workplace metrics, advantages, risk, resilience and cost of projects.
  • Lead analytics tied to estate transactions 
  • Be knowledgeable in real estate, and support management of complex, matrixed relationships at the client and third-party real estate organizations.
  • Support business planning and budget preparation with the client’s team, and in collaboration with other third-party consultants
  • Prepare in-depth review and assessment of the client’s proposed leases, purchases and development transactions.
  • Be responsible for developing tools and processes to best ensure delivery of impactful presentations, and thorough analytical studies and recommendations.
  • Lead and support the creation and maintenance of the client’s databases and analytical tools

Minimum Qualifications
2-4 years’ experience:

    • In commercial real estate with a focus on corporate office, retail, industrial and life-science product types (i.e., leasing, purchasing, build-to-suit and development, planning, finance, financial modeling, corporate strategy)
    • Preparing and managing real estate analytical requirements for investment, acquisition, leasing, disposition, and budgeting in the commercial real estate industry
    • Creating real estate business process analytical strategies, including forecasting, reconciliations and budgeting
    • Working with Excel, Argus and other industry analytical and management tools
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications
Recognized professional qualifications in real estate related areas

  • Experience managing the performance of projects through effective collaboration style that motivates team
  • Experience developing and maintaining cross-functional real estate databases, preferably in corporate real estate 
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver against real estate targets and strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and present proposals to senior management and across direct and indirect team membership
  • Excellent people leadership skills and ability to set clear objectives for the various delivery teams
  • National and international exposure to diverse markets, and appreciation for different ways of working in varying cultures. Other language skills could be advantageous
