Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Senior Analyst/Associate to work closely with the firm’s Managing Principal to learn every aspect of commercial real estate investment and asset management while serving as the resident underwriting and financial modeling expert.

 

In this role, you'll go as deep as you will wide with exposure to the entire commercial real estate lifecycle to own all acquisition activity across time-sensitive opportunities while assisting in asset management and client advisory engagements. You will build upon existing acquisition models, material and operational processes to establish and elevate best practices for efficiency and scale.

 

What You’ll Do:

Acquisitions

  • Prepare financial pro forma analysis and external investor memoranda for new investment opportunities, manage deal pipeline/deadlines, negotiate LOIs, and execute acquisition opportunities across value-add and opportunistic strategies
  • Build and manage financial models for all investment activities including operating budgets, development budgets, loan draws, CAM reconciliations, and quarterly business plan updates
  • Perform due diligence and provide recommendations and critical analysis of material, coordinate due diligence process including third-party reports, market due diligence, etc
  • Manage all capital markets activity for syndication, separate account and joint venture investment vehicles
  • Collaborate with external construction, commercial leasing, and property management functions to analyze major capital investments and repositioning opportunities
  • Develop detailed knowledge of markets and recommend investment strategies
  • Build relationships with brokers, consultants, and lenders on current and future opportunities

 

Asset Management

  • Build and manage complex models for client advisory and asset management engagements including property business plans, investment evaluation / deal screening and structuring solutions
  • Prepare market studies, hold/sell analyses, and capital restructuring analysis
  • Assemble presentations for property business plans, deal evaluation and strategic solutions in an instructive, illustrative manner
  • Monitor ongoing performance of properties and assist in asset management functions; analyze financial statements and budget variance reports
  • Assist with onboarding, mentoring, training and managing interns as needed

 

Who You Are:

  • 2–5 years of direct experience in real estate private equity or investment banking
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and positive attitude ready to “wear multiple hats” to deliver results
  • Strong team player who takes a collaborative approach to create operational efficiencies
  • Highly analytical, creative problem-solver able to prioritize and multi-task in startup-like environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong underwriting, modeling, financial analysis, and impeccable follow-through
  • Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions with the aptitude to interpret financial, technical and legal documents
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced financial modeling (Excel), Argus and Powerpoint skills and knowledge is required
  • Experience in value-add, mixed-use and asset management preferred
