Job Description:

BrightSpire Capital is seeking an analyst to join the Debt Capital Markets team. The candidate will primarily assist in evaluating and coordinating the financing of new and existing real estate debt investments, creating new financing structures and optimizing our existing ones. The candidate should be a strong communicator, capable of multitasking, and a team player. The candidate will join a seasoned team and be expected to integrate effectively by demonstrating a strong work ethic.

 

The analyst will join an active and fast-paced team and receive exceptional exposure to many transaction types across real estate sectors nationally.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Interact directly with banks and rating agencies to obtain financing for new and existing investments
  • Provide real-time feedback and structured guidance to the investment team for capital markets and secured lending transactions
  • Analyzing and monitoring the performance of existing investments
  • Participate in coordinating due diligence processes for capital markets and secured lending transactions
  • Perform due diligence and research for potential debt and equity investments across a variety of real estate asset classes
  • Work closely with portfolio management, accounting, finance, investments and legal teams to coordinate transaction closings
  • Participate in the development of securities offering materials, financial disclosures and internal corporate governance presentations
  • Assist in the preparation of investor reporting, including quarterly updates and responding to specific investors Create fund summaries and portfolio tracking/monitoring reports
  • Prepare sensitivity analyses and portfolio stratifications
  • Oversee surveillance of existing investments
  • Preparation of investment memorandums and presentations
  • Conducting a range of quantitative and qualitative analyses using various CRE databases (i.e. CoStar, Trepp, and Real Capital Analytics)

Qualifications:

  • Strong GPA from a top-tier university (preferably business major with an emphasis in finance or real estate)
  • 1-2 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, real estate, investment banking, or financial services
  • Keen interest in real estate and securitization
  • Outstanding quantitative skills, including advanced Excel skills and ARGUS
  • Financial modeling, finance, and accounting skills, with superior attention to detail
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive with a strong work ethic
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively, independently and professionally in a world-class investment organization

Compensation:

Base Salary: $95,000 to $110,000 annually depending on experience.

The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, knowledge education, and skill level. This is a bonus-eligible position and bonus compensation will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Office Attendances:

The position requires you to come into the office 4 days per week: Mondays to Thursdays.
