Wonderspaces creates touring art shows that make the world’s creativity accessible to all.  

Wonderspaces is an early-stage startup that has proven its core concept and is building the team in Los Angeles, CA to scale our impact across the country.  Our plan is to create a network of long-term venues in dozens of cities and rotate art shows through them.


The Real Estate Director will lead the expansion of Wonderspaces into new cities.  The Director will manage a team of brokers and lawyers and pursue sites for lease, acquisition, or development.  The Director will be responsible for preparing sites for occupancy, including construction of tenant buildouts and the acquisition of permits and operational licenses.   Success in this role will require a self-starter who works well with a small team and performs with minimal supervision. The Director will report to the company’s President.  


  • Identify future sites for Wonderspaces shows; create a pipeline of potential future sites

  • Lead lease, purchase, and development negotiations and processes in coordination with Wonderspaces’ legal, operations, design, and production teams and outside brokers and lawyers

  • Supervise and hire general contractors on build-outs and permitting and licensing processes


  • 4-7 years experience in retail or industrial leasing, development, construction, law, architecture, or related field; 1-2 years negotiating legal contracts

  • Four-year college

  • Strong background in retail or industrial leasing or negotiating legal contracts required

  • Experience with construction, permitting, acquiring operational licenses (including F&B and liquor licenses) highly preferred


  • Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills

  • Financial analysis and modeling; knowledge of net effective rents, IRRs, DCF models

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Powerpoint, and Word


Los Angeles, CA with frequent travel for site visits, design meetings, and inspections


$70-75K per year salary plus equity and competitive benefits
