  • Our Corporate Solutions Group, is currently seeking an Occupancy Planning Manager to work on developing a strategic plan for space usage and location of programs and business groups. This role will report to the Account Director, and lead a team of occupancy planners and relocation project managers who are responsible for driving high-level portfolio optimization goals and workplace strategy across our client’s growing and diverse Americas portfolio.

     

    Being in the forefront

    As Occupancy Planning Manager, you’ll be leading complex portfolio optimization opportunities, integrating utilization analytics, and perform special, ad-hoc planning analyses, while also serving as manager to the entire team of occupancy planners and relocation project managers. This role fully integrates into the client real estate team, partnering closely with the client’s global strategic planners and working through implementation with in-region real estate managers, transaction managers, and project managers.  More importantly, the Occupancy Planning Manager will bring thought leadership for transforming the client portfolio using data and consistent processes.

     

    Having the know-how

    You’ll need to have a great knowledge in Corporate Real Estate. In this role, you will manage a team that works with client real estate managers to anticipate and understand the requests coming from different client groups, assess the space options available and develop scenarios that account for competing priorities and requests. You will serve as liaison and will facilitate necessary communication between planning staff, other Jones Lang LaSalle team members account real estate staff as well as support vendors (architects, engineers, furniture, etc.) that may be required from time-to-time in order to deliver the services outlined (important to have “partner” mindset). Also, you will lead, develop, and manage the space data management system to best serve the occupancy planners, relocation project managers, and client contacts who access the tool.

     

    Being a trailblazer and breaking new ground

    To be successful in this role, you will need to guide the team to increasingly strategic space scenarios and oversee a team negotiating scenario that meet business needs while minimizing risks; guarantee that Jones Lang LaSalle’s continually evolving “best practices” are incorporated into the work product; and make sure a strong collaboration with other JLL service lines. Moreover, you will be charged with leveraging analytics

    Smart

    A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Architecture or other quantitative disciplines, or equivalent practical experience; also along with minimum of 10+ years in Strategic Space Planning, Architecture or related field. Previous experience in Project Management at a strategic level is highly desirable.

     

    Dynamic and Highly Skilled

    You’ll need to be dynamic and technologically savvy and utilize software to support planning solutions and communicate ideas clearly with planning team and lines of businesses. You will be successful if you have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot table, vlook-up, cell calculations), and CAFM tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to consolidate data and floor plans into Power Point for presentations to client and lines of business is highly valued. You’ll be effective in you role by learning to ask the right questions to understand the underlying needs of our clients. You’ll discover how to be proactive and innovative with solutions your stakeholders.

     

    Organized, Open and Flexible

    Excellent communication skills are important – both written and spoken – and we’ll expect you to work independently, multi-task, and manage your time to meet deadlines. You keep on top of things as you’ll often need to reorganize your time day to day, to deal with your team’s changing necessities and requests. An individual with strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients will successful in the role.
