Monument Realty has an exciting opportunity for a creative, energetic and driven young professional to join the development team as a Development Coordinator.  Working closely with the Development Managers, the Development Coordinator is involved in all stages of project development, and is responsible for the coordination of various development tasks for multiple projects. The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude, enjoys collaborating as a part of a team, is highly motivated and detail-oriented, with a keen interest in design, a passion for innovation and a desire to grow their skills and experience within the real estate development industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in the permitting process by conducting permit research, completing applications, managing schedules, and coordinating with architects, engineers, and various government agencies;
  • Obtain fee proposals and communicate, schedule meetings, and coordinate with external consultants as required for each project;
  • Conduct research on market and design trends, and assist the development and marketing teams with the preparation of sales and marketing materials;
  • Assist in preparing and administering contracts with third party consultants;
  • Track and manage schedule and deliverables from third-party contractors; 
  • Perform research, gather information as required, and assist with the preparation of pro forma financial analyses for internal review;
  • Assist with the preparation and production of reports, budgets, schedules and other presentation materials as needed for both internal and external communication;
  • Track project budgets, prepare funding request and coordinate with the accounting team on project budgets and accounts;
  • Attend project meetings to gain further understanding of project details and objectives, and provide detailed minutes of all meetings;
  • Assist in the review of consultant reports to identify critical issues and risks that may affect the project schedule or budget;
  • Complete special assignments as required.

 Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on real estate or a related field, including, engineering, architecture, planning, or construction management;
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience, with exposure to real estate development principles;
  • Skilled with MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Proficiency with graphic design tools is a benefit (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-Up);
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Highly organized and with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time accordingly;
  • Positive demeanor and aptitude for working on multiple projects simultaneously and often under strict deadlines;
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as needed;
  • Demonstrates attention to detail;
  • Strong financial skills are highly desirable.
