Hillsdale College in Washington DC

 

Position Summary:

 

The Property Manager oversees the facilities of Hillsdale College in Washington, D.C., including property maintenance and improvement, facility security and student housing, and vendor management.   

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the monitoring, maintaining, and improving Hillsdale facilities in Washington DC.
  • Work in conjunction with Kirby and main campus staff on long-term maintenance of all building systems, to include information technology, audio/visual equipment, and security systems.
  • Manage Hillsdale in D.C.’s security systems, policy and procedures, and future security implementation in conjunction with main campus security staff.
  • Maintain all building compliance related to building permits, building codes, licenses, inspections, and fees with the District of Columbia.
  • Manage work assignments, billing, and insurance of vendors working for Hillsdale in DC.
  • Manage new and existing maintenance contracts along with completing necessary vendor set up forms and reviewing Certificate of Insurance for compliance.
  • Manage contractors when on site, ensuring each contractor is following all Hillsdale polices and that the delivery of the service is completed correctly.
  • Provide operational support to team regarding public events and college facility uses.
  • Provide written operational and facilities reports to senior management for institutional reporting purposes.

 

Requirements

 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ work experience, preferably in the field of property management.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dedicated to supporting the mission of Hillsdale College.
