Job Title: CMBS Portfolio/Compliance Manager

Department: Operational Services Servicing Operations

Position Reports to: Director of Servicing Operations

 


 

Overview: Serve as an expert in CREFC regulations, reporting requirements, and Trimont obligations as Master/Primary Servicer, Special Servicer, and Subservicer. Communicate with Trustee, Master Servicer, and any other related parties regarding reporting, ad hoc requests, consent requests and audit questions.

 

In performance of their respective tasks and duties, all employees are expected to conform to the following:

Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the composition and distribution of monthly investor reports

  • Pilot the implementation of automated reporting, workflows, and processes related to CMBS responsibilities

  • Expand intracompany CMBS training platform and plan and perform training for affected teams

  • Assist with data aggregation and comforting during CMBS pre-close due diligence period

  • Abstract PSA or Indenture related to new securitizations for reporting requirements, due dates, Servicer obligations, and any other critical dates or stipulations

  • Review and finalize new Investor Servicing Agreements in coordination with Client Relationship Manager and Corporate Counsel

  • Create and provide Loan Setup File to Master Servicer, if applicable

  • Track consent requests from Master Servicer and coordinate delivery and notification of completed requests

  • Perform watchlist surveillance

  • Research and respond to Rating Agency requests for information related to CMBS obligations

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the timely delivery of items requested by Master Servicer and/or Trustee

  • Track reporting deadlines

  • Coordinate completion of reporting and deliver reporting to Master Servicer and/or Trustee

  • Review reporting for accuracy and consistency with CREFC standard

  • Coordinate completion of internal and external audit requests

  • Research and respond to ad hoc Master Servicer and/or Trustee requests
  • Aggregate and review Trustee reporting, certifications, and exception reports

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • At least 4+ years work experience in the commercial real estate industry
  • Working knowledge of Securitizations (CMBS 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, CDOs, CLOs)
  • Familiarity with CREFC and CMBS processes, policies, and procedures
  • Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes
  • Results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation
  • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing
  • Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Applicable knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous CMBS Primary/Master Servicing or Special Servicing experience
  • Experience with Backshop
  • Familiarity with compliance matters including Reg AB audits, Rating Agency rating process, and audit
  • College (BS/BA) degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
