FINANCIAL ANALYST | SADDLE BROOK, NJ
The Cafiero Team @ Marcus & Millichap’s New Jersey office, one of the top commercial real estate investment sales teams in New Jersey, is seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst for its Saddle Brook, NJ office. The position is ideal for a professional with 1-3 years of experience in creating cash flow models, underwriting, reading and interpreting commercial real estate leases, and profit & loss statements, and have proficiency in ARGUS software. The person who fills this critical position will report directly to senior management of the team and participate in all aspects of property underwriting, as well as communicating with clients regarding the financial aspects of their property.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze, review, and interpret various real estate documents, including operating statements, rent rolls, leases, budgets, loan documents and other valuation materials
• Utilize existing models to prepare pro forma cash flow projections and valuations for a variety of properties
• Research market conditions in support of financial underwriting assumptions
• Assist in the production of property offering memorandum which will be used to solicit and actively market investment properties to the marketplace
• Use our databases (e.g. Costar) to research rent and sales comparables as part of the valuation process; making outside calls as necessary to gather information
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
• Strong analytical skills and adaptable to new concepts
• Ability to understand and interpret commercial lease terminology
• Competency working with spreadsheets
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to understand ARGUS cash flow modeling software
• Attention to detail, proactive and flexible to handle multi-tasking assignments
• Comfortable in fast paced environment; use of good judgement with both internal and external clients
• Must have an outstanding work ethic and be a true team player who has a collaborative, flexible nature
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
