Toronto Building is undergoing a comprehensive transformation to become a modern, client centric organization. Additionally, you will guide the development of and administer the annual budget for the inspection stream, ensuring expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved limits.

With final authority over the permit approval process and construction projects, you will ensure that all decisions uphold financial, health, safety, and community considerations. You will prepare various reports for executive review by the Council, Standing Committees, and Community Council, providing strategic insights and recommendations.

Furthermore, you will represent the City on regional and provincial groups, providing advice and guidance on technical information relating to complex or community-sensitive projects and mediating differences between stakeholders. You will also direct activities related to the defense of insurance claims, challenges under the Building Code Act, and enforcement of Building Code compliance.
