Description


Arcadia Land Company, a residential developer of walkable communities based in Philadelphia, seeks a detail-oriented and highly organized Full Charge Development Accountant.  This position reports to the President of the Company.   The Full Charge Development Accountant will be entrusted with the full spectrum of bookkeeping responsibilities for Arcadia's development ventures.  Key duties include managing accounts payable and cash accounts, overseeing lot and house closings, preparing bank draws, as well as preparing financial statements for each single-purpose entity and on a consolidated basis.   The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and transparency of our projects, ensuring that all financial activities are conducted accurately and efficiently.


The Full Charge Development Accountant will also be responsible for coordinating with external service providers, including lenders, payroll service, tax preparer, insurance broker, and our outside CPA. This role requires a proactive approach to communication with team members to ensure that all financial processes are seamlessly integrated with Arcadia’s development activities (e.g., closings, bank draws, capital calls and distributions) and compliant with bank requirements and other regulations.

Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting and have at least two years of experience in real estate accounting. Proficiency in QuickBooks software is critical. This position will initially be full-time in-office with the possibility for part-time work-from-home after a period of orientation.
