JOB DESCRIPTION
The Analyst will work directly with Principals by providing financial analyses, preparing presentation packages, and conducting market research. This will include the compilation of financial and operational information and data for purposes of analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on current and potential opportunities. In addition, the Analyst will create internal and external presentations.
This is a great opportunity to work and grow in a high paced environment that provides exposure to the entire development (including land acquisition, entitlements and construction) and investment process.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support team members on various projects through research, data compilation, financial analyses and report writing.
- Conduct market research and project due diligence including rent and sales comparables research, demographic studies and analysis, and feasibility analysis
- Provide research support in targeted markets through direct research and internal and external resources. Collect and follow market research on industry trends.
- Assist in financial analysis of existing projects and potential opportunities utilizing Excel.
- Conduct proforma analysis of potential opportunities including cash flow, debt, preferred returns, IRR and ROI analyses.
- Create internal and external investment and finance packages.
- Communicate with real estate brokers, property managers, and other industry professionals.
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time.
- Drive and tour rent and sales comparables.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience in multifamily industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (must have advanced skills and be able to create and edit complex financial formulas) and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Must have strong analytical, quantitative, and market research skills.
- Strong cash flow modeling skills.
- Prior work experience in financial analysis capacity is required.
- Must be a team player and be able to multi-task.
- Ability to read, write, interpret, and analyze business publications.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must be proactive and have a strong personal initiative and desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Must have strategic thought process with great attention to detail.
- Be able and willing to work in a fast paced environment.
