Description

 

Global Real Estate and Workplace Experience is a staff group within the Global Services Group and is a shared services function solely responsible for planning, procuring, designing, and building, managing, redeploying and disposing of offices, field locations, and service center portfolio of owned and leased locations. The primary focus is delivering excellent workplace solutions and experiences for an Amex employee to do his/her best work.

 

 

The Director Strategy is an integral part of the GREWE team within the GSG organization.  S/he will provide a wide range of global strategy support to 4 Global Relationship Leads and having 1 direct report, while reporting directly into to the SVP GREWE.

 

 

This strategy role executes strategically relevant and financially sound transactions for American Express that enhance profitability, supplement growth and optimize the company’s use of capital.

 

  

 

Primary responsibilities:

 

Providing ongoing strategic support for prioritization and evaluation of deal pipeline and company-wide initiatives, including regular interactions with GSG teams.

Developing overall M&A strategy and conducting regular reviews with senior business leaders across all areas of the company

Developing strong relationships across customers and support groups to manage strategic  requests from senior management and ensure that key deliverables are met

Balance the management of strategic business priorities along with the long-term strategic deliverables

 

 

Required Skill Set/Qualifications

 

Strategic thinker with a high degree of analytical capabilities

Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both oral and written

Proven ability to build relationships, manage stakeholders, influence decisions and drive results through internal partnership to effectively drive processes

Experience handling sensitive/confidential information, required to maintain absolute discretion

Strong work ethic and a results-oriented attitude

Resourceful and knows who to go to in the Blue Box to get things done

10 years of relevant strategy experience preferable in Corporate Real Estate

Proven strategic leader with real estate and relationship management background

Able to translate strategic business requirements into project goals; finance background a plus

Comfortable working in multi-tasking environment with ambiguity and complex organization - Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities

Proven track record of delivering high quality customer service and navigating complex organizations and leadership/ stakeholder groups

MBA degree preferred
