Firm:
Company is a multi-platform, real estate private equity firm focused on value-investments, ground-up development, and specialty finance. The Firm has a fully-discretionary fund that develops ground-up multi-family, invests in value-oriented commercial real estate assets and originates / invests in construction and performing mortgages, mezzanine loans, and debt-like preferred equity investments primarily located in New York City.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Supporting the investment team by underwriting new debt and equity investments, including cash flow modeling, financing and joint venture structuring, and investment analysis (IRR, NPVs, sensitivity tables);
• Perform market research and asset specific due diligence and other tasks, as needed;
• Perform loan asset management for existing debt and equity investments in the portfolio;
• Ability to communicate with financing counterparties, brokers, borrowers and investors on a range of real-estate related functions;
• Engage with firm prospects and existing investors, articulating Fund strategy, answering deal related inquiries, and participating in calls with existing investors; and
• Design marketing materials including due diligence materials, case studies, track record data, and various other analyses, and update Powerpoint presentations.
Qualifications:
A highly motivated, entrepreneurial and detail-oriented individual with sound judgement and a demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and time management skills, the successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
• A demonstrable passion to pursue a career in the real estate investment field;
• BA/BS with a strong academic record;
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics with strong GPA;
• Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in commercial real estate, buy-side private market investing, private equity, or capital markets;
• Solid understanding of the alternative investment business;
• Highly advanced excel modeling skills and understanding of complex financial concepts;
• Strong communication, team-building, problem-solving skills along with a strong work ethic;
• Strong desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment; and
• Ability to handle short timelines and multiple priorities while working well in a team and independently.
